JAMES Naka and Joe Luwi will join their Fiji club Navua celebrate their 2009 Vodafone Fiji FACT soccer victory next week.
Naka and Luwi’s deadly combination helped Navua win Fiji’s biggest soccer tournament, with Naka scoring the winning goal.
Navua soccer president Anil Sharma told Fiji live a committee have been set up to plan and organise the celebrations and things are falling in place at this stage.
“The committee is working hard as they want the celebration to be one of its kind in Navua,” Sharma said.
“We are fortunate to have Vodafone joining us in the celebrations as one of the main sponsors and there are lots of co sponsors also.
“Next Saturday will be day of feast and celebration for the province of Serua and Namosi and I am urging all the citizens of Navua and the well wishers of the team from all across the southern division to come in full support and celebrate the success of the team in a carnival atmosphere.
“The players will be honoured with lots of gifts and cash and each player is expected to cash in more than $3000 along with the sponsored gift packs and giveaways.
“I have doubled the $15,000 prize money the team had won and more cash is expected to be poured in from the other sponsors and well wishers of the team” added Sharma.
Float procession, a march through Navua town and entertainment will be the order of the day while the players, officials and their families will be honoured in the evening during a presentation and awards night planned to be hosted in Pacific Harbour.
