Welcome to Central Malaita Student Association


The Central Malaita Students Association (CMSA) is a multi-dialect and cultural Student Group Consisting of students from Kwara’ae, Langalanga, Kwai and Ngongosila, Malaita Outer Islands, Kwaio and Fataleka. Our vision and objective is to protect the norms and cultural values of our members while at the same time we enhance our academic knowledge and skills towards the promotion of development and the improvement of living standards in our respective regions.

Updates: Solomon Islands General Election 2010 – Maelanga, Sogovare, Wale, Darcy, Kaua, Sukuna and Tom back to the floor of Parliament

In Malaita, east malaita constituency former MP Manasseh Maelanga retained back his seat in a land-slide victory over his other contesting candidates. Matthew Wale also retained back his seat on a surprise victory. Many people did not believe the result as the returning officer for aoke/langalanga constituency announces the winning candidate. Toswel Kaua and Peter Tom also retained their seat.

In Choiseul, Former Prime Minister and leader of opposition Manasseh Sogovare also retained his place on the floor of parliament representing the people of East Choiseul. Other results saw two new faces representing the south Choiseul and North/west Choiseul Constituency they are Elijah Doro and Connelly Sigoto.

Gordon Darcy Lilo also retained back his seat for Gizo/Kolobangara Constituency and Synder Rini for Marovo Constituency. Other wining candidates for western province are Lionel Alex, Charles Sigoto and Job Dudley Tauginga.

In Isabel, Varian Lonamei the winning candidate for Maringe/Kokota constituency and Samuel Manetoali for Gao/Bugotu Constituency.

In Honiara counting still underway this morning. East Honiara total of 31 ballot boxes still to be count and West Honiara 22 ballot box still to be count as well. Result for this two constituency will be known later in the evening.

Other Constituencies counting still underway and more results should be known later this evening.
