The Anglican Diocese of Central Solomons has a new Bishop.
He is Reverend Ben Seka.
Reverend Seka was duly elected today by the Electoral Board of Central Solomons and his election has been accepted by the Church's Council of Bishops.
Reverend Seka is currently the Principal of Bishop Patteson Theological College at Kohimarama.
He holds a Masters Degree of Theology with Honors from a number of theological institutions in the Pacific, including Australia.
He was first ordained as a priest in 1997 and had served as district priest of Gaeta soon after his ordination.
After serving as a lecturer at the Bishop Patteson Theological College, he was appointed as Principal of the College in 2008.
Reverend Seka is from Vuranimala Village in Small Ngella, Central Islands Province.
He will be consecrated and installed as Bishop of Central Solomons at Christ the King Cathedral at the Central Islands provincial capital, Tulagi in February, 2011.
