Malaita Premier said of decentralization

Malaita Premier Edwin Suibaea has reiterated his government decentralization policy to the people of AGAM on Friday.
He said his government will undertake a reform to spread development to all parts of Malaita. "We have created a regional framework when five regional ministers were apointed," he said during the visit to Central Kwaraea.
"The five ministers will be posted to the five regions, Malaita Outer Islands, Southern, Northern, Central and Eastern."
"We believe in decentralization because it's the power base of the region," Mr Suibaea said.
He said the reason for the reform was because people's voice was not heard in the higher level.
" We planned to create a regional assembly as well," he said. "This is to allow people to take part in the assembly and voice their concerns."
