PM PHILIP SPEAKS ON RURAL DEVELOPMENT FUND

Prime Minister Danny Philip has told parliament members that they need to discuss to put together a policy on the disbursement of the Rural Constituency Development Funds, RCDF, and other funds meant for development in the country.

Mr Philip was answering a question from the Opposition Leader Steve Abana in parliament this morning to explain the government's policy on the RCDF and mechanisms in place for the disbursement of the fund.

He also revealed that the Republic of China recently approached the government to review how the funds were being disbursed as they have been criticised by the international community.

Prime Minister Philip says Ministry of Rural Development will disburse the money after receiving applications endorsed by parliament members.
