Payment of $3 million paid by the government to the Papua New Guinea chancery in Honiara was never a collective decision by the Cabinet, former Forestry Minister Douglas Ete says.
Douglas Ete told Journalists in a press conference on Thursday night. He continue on and says that even Prime Minister Danny Philip did not attend the meeting when the Cabinet met over the $3 million for the PNG changery construction.
According to information provided to Solomon star by Mr Ete, he stated that Cabinet (201)37 Paper on "Assistance towards PNG High Commision Chancery Office" was turned down and questioned by some ministers within the Cabinet.
He said since then the paper never came back to Cabinet for discussion until it was approved and came out in the Cabinet conclusion. He claimed that the Cabinet net paper was a crony of the Prime Minister (Transworld constructor).
Mr Ete said this was very serious and it undermined the powers of the Cabinet Stipulated in the national constitution.
