Assistant Secretary of United State for South East Asia and Pacific Kurt Campbell accompanied by the Commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Patrick Walsh will be arriving in Honiara for a short visit on Wednesday, June 29.Brigadier General Richard Simcock and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Senior Administrator Ms.Nisha Biswal will accompany them. This is the first time that a U.S. Assistant Secretary of the State has visited the Solomon Islands.
The Assistant Secretary and his delegation will meet with the Prime Minister and Senior members of the Solomon Islands Government in the Cabinet Room of the Prime Minister's Office.
After the meeting, the press is invited to the Cabinet Room for taking pictures. There will be also exchange of gifts.
The Assistant Secretary and Prime Minister will be available to take questions from the press for 10 minutes.
