Thousands of children and families in around Honiara marked the birth of Jesus Christ (Christmas) two weeks early with "Carols in the Islands" at the Lawson Tama stadium on Saturday.
The celebration began with the arrival of the famous Santa on a Fire Truck from Multi-purpose hall into the stadium.
As he entered the stadium along with Christmas music played in the background as families lift their children onto their shoulders while some of them move like a school of fish to take a clear view Santa Claus.
It was a joyful moment for the children and the families to see Father Christmas arriving in his usual Joker costumes the red and white uniform with a long white beard along with his five supporting entertainers.
The Father Christmas dance and waves to the crowd from the top of the Fire Truck as he transported around to the stage.
On stage Santa performed some dances that brought the children on the ground dancing on their feet with the popular "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and "Jingle Bells".
Following his performance a choir group from the Pacific Islanders in the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands continues which brings the program lives.
Not only that but more local groups including Holy Cross Youths, 3 C’s, Transfiguration, Eddie Babanisia and Save the Children Australia, made the whole program very colourful.
