Trails have been made to power communities with solar energy and Solomon Islands has the heat for solar power. Outgoing ROC ambassador George Chan yesterday pledge the ongoing assistance of Taiwan to ensure Solomon Islands is powered by solar energy from the sun.
"You have this God given resource from the sun, unlike many European and Western countries, and we think this is the right place to focus on the solar energy," Mr Chan said.
He said many countries hardly feel the heat from the sun from days.
"You can light up this whole country with energy from the sun, it's there and it has been wasted all the time".
Solomon Islands will be the first pacific islands country to benefit from the project to get power energy from the sun.
