A man from Malaita province was stabbed to death in the early hours of Saturday morning. The deceased was killed as a result of a confrontation with a group of men. The incident was occurred in front of the Central Market.
The deceased was traveling in his car and stopped as a result of a road block in front of the Central Market. It was when he stopped, went out and confronted the group where he was believed to be attacked and stabbed a number of times.
He was rushed to the hospital but later died as a result of multiple wounds sustained during the attack and loss of blood.
After the incident known to the relatives of the deceased, they match to the Central Market and caused disturbance and panic to the people do their Market shopping at that time. With that also five homes at the Koa Hill area in Central Honiara ware burned down. The five homes were believed to be the homes of the attackers.
Police quickly called in to calm down the situation and provide security around Koa Hill Area. Two Suspects have been arrested and remand in custody while investigation still continue.
